Is that a good thing?
I’m old, I played the board game when I was a kid, and am in my first 365 league now which is conveniently the same 1982 season as the last of my card sets.
We have two dozen SPs on pace to throw 325-350 innings. It seems like pitcher fatigue ought to address this but it really doesn’t.
And though this was an era of RPs sometimes throwing over 125 innings, it looks like we will have about two dozen relievers with over 100 IP.
And we have one SOM bot team, which is using one of its guys as an every 5th day starter AND as a closer. So 3/4 through the season he has 24 starts, made 21 relief appearances, and Hs thrown 167 innings so far versus 97 actual innings.
Maybe they have tightened this stuff up in the later seasons.
Still having a blast, but it took awhile to realize that “simulation” and “realistic simulation” are not the same things. Seems like the thing to do is get five strong SP/RP types, put them in the rotation, and also assign them all the juiciest bullpen roles.
