Player cards that never produce for you.

I thought I would open a discussion about player cards that you guys don't draft much anymore because you never have much luck with them. I never have great success with Mays or Griffey Jr. how about you?

Mookie Betts. Alex Rodriguez. Hank Aaron. This is a tricky question for me. I've been most disappointed in players whose salaries are inflated because of defense that underwhelm on offense based on what I'd expect for the price. I've also been pleasantly surprised by the bargain basement offense I get out of defensively challenged hitters. But in the long run, I can't tell how much the superior defense aspect of the game simulation more than makes up for mediocre offensive stats. So while guys like Mays or Griffey may not regularly produce eye-popping at the plate, maybe they are worth it because of their hidden defensive contributions.

I play a lot of pitchers parks. ALL of the Pie Traynor cards have flopped for me. Also Biz Mackey. Great D though

funny you mention Traynor. i read an article about undeserving HOF players and he was in the list. Maz deservidly so was at the Top. the article was as much about " these players couldn't touch Pete Rose so why r they in the HOF and he isn't"? I tended to agree with most of the writers picks,

I definitely agree with Biz Mackey. Unless he becomes a lot cheaper, he won't be on any of my teams soon.

Any/all of the R1 relievers. I always thought they were a poor value in ATG8. Now they are even more expensive.
