THE SANDBERG GAME

PostSat Jul 11, 2020 1:22 pm

A nice video with commentary from several Hall of Fame players involved in the game, remember watching this game and Costas first calling the player of the game as Willie McGee and then reciting the credits assuming game is over with two outs Cubs down by two. I enjoyed this and thought others who haven’t seen this might appreciate the insights and commentary as well.

Thanks for posting this. 1984 was a wonderful season (Tigers fan here). It's too bad the Cubs choked against the Padres or it could have been a classic World Series.

Hated Leon Durham ever since. Especially when in 1985 he made the final out in the 9th swinging at a 3-0 pitch with the Cubs down a couple runs and the bases empty.

Thanks for the post, I really enjoyed it. Reminded me how much I liked hearing Costas and Kubek do baseball games. Sandberg will be playing second on my next ATG team.

I was at that game. Sitting in the rightfield bleachers. A friend and I traveled to about 8 different ballparks that summer. What a game!
