I saw that Appling old timers home run when it happened--in 1982. I didn't remember, though, that it was several rows back in the seats. Just amazing. Of course, Spahn wasn't throwing his best fastball, but still, that's some power for a guy who was 75!

I remember that HR by Appling. He had tears in his eyes coming home from 3rd.
