For as long as I have been a fan, it is still inconceivable to me that the pros can watch a pitcher from the dugout in real time and conclude anything from it. Batters, it is easier to see who has it and who doesn't.
Agreed. Top pitching prospects often just don't make it in MLB. On the other hand, I also started giving up on batting prospects a while ago, too. I used to dig deep into the minors to find that perfect kid who could be Al Kaline some day. For example, I found the amazing base-stealer Billy Hamilton in the lower minors and then stuck with him for years, even after MLB all but gave up on him. Argh...
