Completed Leagues

PostWed Jul 29, 2020 9:41 pm

I located a number of 2020 $80M DH leagues in order to look at the allocation of pitching $'s. I posted what I found on that topic in this thread.

More leagues, with varied caps, can be found at the Players Championship site.

Use them all as a resource for best practices. What works. What doesn't.

I went back and looked.I have been in a league with Jay-Pav at least six times and he has never finished with a better record than me.

So I don't know about following a secret formula from someone who I always beat? Also I looked at his teams from 2018, not very impressive at all. I don't even think half his teams made the playoffs. I just think that guy is really overrated. Next time he finishes with a better record than me will be his first.

Not sure why you’re taking a cheap shot at JPav? He provides sound reasoning and analytics, and has a ton of 20xx experience to draw on...with plenty of success. Even the best strategies can get blown up if you don’t get your players, so drafts have a huge impact as well.

kitadisa's post smelled spammy when I saw it yesterday but either I didn't notice the advertisement at the end or it was added later. I've deleted the post. You might as well edit the advertisement out of your response geekor. Thanks for the bump.

RB,

I have a team all set for Event 5 and League 3 is wide open. Do I have to wait for you to join one of the last leagues again, or can you get a team in now? If you need to wait for the fillers and stragglers in the later leagues, I’ll understand. You have a bit of ground to try and make up still.

Radagast Brown wrote:J-PAV, you go ahead and carry eight starting pitchers, you can get away with doing that and winning 89 games (at least some of the time)... But beginners and the people in between beginners and you should not be carrying more than five starting pitchers.
I meant particularly with the brand new set and brand bullpen new rules.... So those teams before 2019 are irreverent in terms of my statement.

In the meantime, here’s what Ring 150 looks like:

Seven man rotation, of course. Or is this one irreverent too?

Damn JPav, nice team! I wouldn’t have the balls to put together a pitching staff like that!

Now THAT’S why you should listen to his insights!
