wow, the guy is a low-e high range two position left-side IF with Doubles power, but compared to the helium pumped into virtually every salary at the top (and bottom)-end(s) of the player set, maybe not the most annoying pricing - the guy just probably has Jerry McGuire as his agent -
i am allergic to W power guys but he is a low-e SS1/3b2, comparing him to Billy Cox, though, it does appear as if ss1 is a big inflator (throughout the player set - look at Burleson's ss1 card - he has some pop, but he needs to be towed around the bases (compared to most SSs))
Having said that, I definitely agree your guy is a little overpriced - but the whole set is now - the Babe is virtually unusable now, my opinion.
to continue - I had the impression that closers were gonna be getting a raise, and that sorta made sense to me, but when I saw the across-the-board increases given to hitters, it seems to me that the closer increase was considerably watered down
and I have had some (I considered condescending) comments directed to me about all the bargains, telling me that i just needed to hunt for but I will stick to this point -
use 8 to create a draft list of a team you consider would be competitive (and don't leave yourself a $3M slush fund) then attempt to convert the team to 9 - every time I have done that (at least 10 so far) I have been unable to complete the 'transfer' because at 9 pricing I would be over cap
just my opinion, the closer raises were well-deserved - it's murder sitting in the pen waiting to face 3 guys (humor) (attempt anyway)
but with the exception of Rolfe and Pinson, just about every player I liked to use (both ends - Chief Wilson and Claudell Washington and Omar Mareno are more expensive too, which can really foof with your end of the roster management) is more expensive.
that's the thing about empirical observation - it trumps orthodoxy with the facts every time.
