100+ win teams

I swear iI'd rather have the 88 win season than the 100+ win season. It seems like 90% of 100+ win seasons ends up in a first round loss in the playoffs. It's like a curse. Either the bats go dead, or the pitching heads south, or the only 2 guys that can get injured for more than 1 game gets hurt. Something happens and the team that you beat 11 times to their 1 win beats you like an old rug. This isn't a complaint, it's Strat. It's HAL. It's like HAL saying "I took my eye off you for a whole season and look what you did. I'll fix that." And he does. Would Strat be Strat without the frustration of HAL? I think not. Strat you are a cruel mistress, but I still love you.

People have been whispering about the 100 win curse for years ... The curse is real ... Either that or HAL is just an evil bastard.

Honestly, I dread having a team win 100 games! I'll take a 99 win team over a 108 win team everytime as stupid as it sounds.

Yep the curse is real, alive and well... I got a bad taste of it recently... I had my first 100 win team finishing the season at 104-58 in a 24 team league... I lost in the quarter-finals despite the fact that I was #1 seed against #8 seed who was
83-79... Hal is a cruel bastard who loves underdogs...

Of course the numbers do not bare this out. Anecdotes are awesome but they are not statistical data. There is no such thing as a 100 win curse.

And there is plenty of anecdotal evidence the other way my record in playoffs is pretty mediocre but my 100 win teams have won all 9 semis and 7 of 9 finals

However my one 100 loss team did not win a playoff series so maybe there is a 100 loss curse

What is this 100 wins you all speak of? I have heard legends but.................

I have 7 semi losses, 1 finals loss, and 5 champs. The latest one had a 206 run differential. 90 more than 2nd place. Sometimes I wonder if clutch has something to do with playoffs. This was a very poor clutch team. At least the team that beat me had the 2nd best run differential. But I do know this, as the team approached 100 I wanted it to stop at 99. It got to 102-60. Naturally Nen gave up 6 runs in the 8th blowing an 8-3 lead. 5 straight rolls on the hitter card. No matter how good one's players are if the rolls aren't on your cards, you will lose way more than you win.

Coach, I believe in the curse. But HAL hates me too. Maybe ATG 9 will be different. I've had 2 100 win teams. One lost, one is Champs. meanwhile I'll hope for 99 wins.

Going back on my 100 win teams I came across what has got to be a record or at least a real rareity. In this league there were 3 100+ win teams. So 2 100 win teams lost out. Fortunately the 3rd 100 win team won it all but went 7 games in the semis with the 81-81 team.

Not a hocus pocus type, but 6 I found all ousted without a ring. In one case lost to a team with a losing record in the semis.
