Certainly more legitimate than the Astros. Listen, Yankees (among other teams) had a bunch of steroid users and oversized payrolls-- I still consider them the champs for the years when they won. It's a flawed game made up of flawed people. Every season has imperfections.

But whoever wins the World Series is legitimately the champion.

At least that is my opinion.

I guess you can look at it that way. Makes total sense and I respect that.

From my perspective it's far better than crowning teams of cheaters. But we do. We make new World Series champions even during odd (if not troubling) circumstances.

The Astros are the champs. What can you do? They were huge cheaters. It is possible (likely, from my perspective) that the scope of their cheating was way beyond what they copped to.

So, they came up with a league and a set of rules, in order for us to have a season! Pretty awesome, isn't it. I am very very very fortunate to be able to complain about the Mets. If I didn't have baseball to complain about, I'd be probably be saying something along the lines of @#$*($#(* #$#@$($ $(%#($# @@%(%(%% about various things in the world.

If you follow my drift.

I stopped caring about "real" baseball when it was made clear that cheating teams would receive a mild slap on the wrist, and cheating players would get no punishment at all. It's nothing more than glorified wrestling at this point. If people want to watch it for the entertainment value, whatever. But it's certainly not a real sport anymore. My only connection to the game at this point is Strat.

In ‘72 the Red Sox missed the playoffs by 1/2 a game. 10 years later the reds have the best record in baseball and don’t make the playoffs. Another 10 years later a strike dropped the season to 144 games. Then steroids came in. Then the Astros took stealing signs to the next level. All these seasons had champions and other than trivia answers people forget about these things. So I think this season is just as legitimate as others.

Only if the Dodgers win! I dont know...it definitely feels like it will be an asterisk season. In football, they only had a 9 game season in 1982 and Washington's championship is still good, though. But, in my mind, it cant really count like it would playing a 162 game season with fans. It's just too different.
