My recollection was running home from kindergarten to watch the 1972 World Series but I suppose now I was watching earlier rounds of the play-offs (they didnt play the world series in the middle of the day, right?). It's like all these great players are dying at once so they can go play baseball together on a field of dreams...
I am just a couple of years older. I know in 1973 that they DID play at least one world series game during the day, I remember one day after lunch in October 1973, my 4th grade teacher wheeling the 19" tv to the front of the class and we watched at least one hour of one game between the A's and Mets. Now I grew up in Seattle, but I would swear that we were watching the game sometime around 1:30pm pacific time....don't ask me the innings we saw, my memory gets muddy after that.
