It seems to me that there are a lot of pitchers that are essentially unusable because of how the pricing is connected to the S*/S or R rating and endurances. There are also a lot of pitchers which seem to me to be mislabeled (maybe that's by design) with regards to their s or r rating. I don't know if they keep data on the actual usage of pitchers (that is how many times a pitcher actually is rostered) but it would probably be revealing. I also don't really understand why I have to draft Randy Lerch if my entire pitching strategy is designed to avoid using him. That just seems silly.

You are basing your opinion on what, exactly? How many ATG 8 leagues have you completed? How many ATG 9 leagues have you completed?

Amen! Yes, absolutely a reliever should be able to handle three roles they do this all the time in real MLB Baseball.

Its like the people who developed the new bullpen logic didn't have any common sense!

Why on earth would a reliever not be able to pitch in at least three different situations, they do this every week?

Yes, also expand the rosters. What MLB team makes it through a season with 9-12 pitchers? ZERO DO. Why on earth wouldn't we want more players? Why on earth would we want less control over our bullpens? Can we use just a little common sense?

Would you say, like most things we have a ZERO percentage chance of this travesty getting fixed?

Who's idea was it to go from letting your relief pitcher serve in nine different situations to two different situations?

How many situations do REAL MLB relief pitchers serve in, during the course of a season? Four, five, six, nine?

Why is 350 innings out of starting pitchers okay, but 200 innings out of a reliever is not?

Why couldn't a real relief pitcher pitch 150-200 innings? Is it more likely a modern day starter could pitch 350 innings? Of course not?

Is there ANY COMMON SENSE LEFT IN THE WORLD?

I am assuming that the 14 people who voted no 3rd role for relievers want 4 or more

I hate to be slow, but not understanding 'Third Role' - there are way more than that selectable now, so we must be discussing 3 specific/particular ones - the 3 different closer roles?

or is there a limit on how many roles to which a pitcher may be allocated?

it seems to me that Wilcy Moore should be allowed to be the designated driver for the Babe in addition to pitching every day plus batting practice, Also, if you can't do it for Phil Regan too, Leo Durocher may haunt you.

I was never much bothered by super reliever abuse and was not often guilty, my reliever preferences sorta located around Dayley, Reniff, and McBean and the budget Abernathy, and so don't have a useful opinion and will abstain but will offer the opinion that if a player cannot be used at standard cap, he isn't much worth having in the set, though maybe a standard cap of 100,000,000 makes more sense than 80,000,000 now for those of us who like to see the Babe in a standard cap league

I think the real solution would be to give players a season-ending injury when they reach, say 125% of their PAs or BFs

Yep, they went from NO LIMIT on rolls to a limit of two rolls per pitcher which means if you want to spend a ton of money on a reliever he will get infrequent innings in the truly important rolls such as closer or you must set Bruce Sutter to be your middle man and set up or mopup to actually get HAL to use him.

I have mixed feelings about 'bullpen'.
I have no issues on the limit of 2 roles for a reliever.
But feel they shouldn't have increased the cost of these relievers.
