Dual Franchise League Season 33

This will be the 33rd season of the dual franchise league. We will be using the new ATG9 cards recently released; within those cards are a subset that Stratomatic created at BDWards request entitled Post WWII . The set can be found when you create a team and there is an option just under the ATG9 set. Salary cap is 140 million, 5% DROP; we WILL be using a designated hitter, no waivers. You MUST have a players card on one of your franchises in order to use him on your roster, unless you acquire a player via trade.

Each manager must pick 1 team from each column below. . A manager has exclusive rights to players on his roster; if a player is on more than one roster, he belongs to the team where his salary is highest. We are using a serpentine draft, so each manager picks one team first and then we reverse the order. List of teams will be posted below. Please sign up using the cut and paste method. Official draft order will follow. Both the Astros and Expos will be listed as Original franchises and the Orioles and Pirates will be Listed under the expansion side.
Each team will be allowed ONE Trade only. (Multi player deals will be allowed). However ALL trades must occur after your team has been created. This will allow all of us to follow the various trades. You can agree to a trade while the draft is still going on, but you must draft the player you have rights to and then trade him after the team rosters are created by Strat.

Let me repeat that again because managers have ignored this rule in the past. ALL TRADES MUST BE MADE AFTER STRAT HAS CREATED THE LEAGUE; YOU MUST DRAFT AND THEN TRADE A PLAYER EVEN IF YOU AGREED TO A TRADE WHILE OUR DRAFT IS STILL RUNNING.

In addition this Season we will have assigned divisions, so the bottom 4 teams drafting will load first ( because they will have completed draft first).

Here is a list of teams for the upcoming league. There will be a few minor changes this year. I have flipped flopped WhiteSox ( original) and the Pirates (expansion). The WS have gotten increasingly better recently and I dont forsee the Pirates getting chosen under an original franchise. Also, Texas now without Arod will combined with Tampa and KC will be paired with Arizona.

Also just a heads up; Strat was supposed to release approx 50 new individual cards as well as the entire 1991 Twins roster. It doesnt appear thats going to happen but in the event they do release them before we conduct the draft the new cards WILL be eligible. You can view the players being added in the card discussion forum entitled new adds 20.4
Looking at the list, it doesnt really look like any impact players,nor do the Twins look that strong, so if its a last minute thing I dont believe any of these players will tip the balance of power for any one team. Don't wanna wait because nobody knows for sure when they will be released.

There was one record broken this past season with the Big Unit Randy Johnson striking out an incredible 440 batters; oddly enough he finished 17th in the league with a 4.76 ERA

Even if SOM timely adds the cards to the ATG9 player set, I still would have to ask SOM to add those cards to the special ATG9 Post WWII set SOM created at my request. It might take an extra week or so for SOM to add the applicable new cards to the special ATG9 Post WWII set after they are added to ATG9.
