Although I'm not alone in my belief that there is no urgency to vote on the Finals' format, apparently the beliefs of the finalists matter little.

That's not really true at all. We have done the finals this way for 8 to 10 years at least that I can remember. I'm a creature of habit so I am not usually inclined to make a change due to feedback from 1 or 2. I have always wanted to get the vote out of the way as soon as possible so I can sit back and wait for the Semi's to conclude and also by that time, the vote MAY be complete enough so that people MIGHT be able to get their team prepared with a likely cap. Waiting until the Semi's concludes means also waiting for the vote to START and then cycle down through everybody. That can take a week or more to get everyone to post their vote. So it's also a time saving thing too. I think ALL of the Finalists are itching to get the Finals underway. I want to get the Finals kicked off too because I want that out of the way to plan the NEXT Barnstormers.

That means polling the board of what we need to decide on for change (if anything) and working with SOM to negotiate the main page, rules changes in the wording, putting up the signup page. The "offseason" is just as busy as the events themselves.

The board does come in here to a look at the suggestions raised and some do filter into the rules. So everyone IS LISTENED to by more than just me and if a board member wants a change, we do vote on it. That's how the decision NOT to include extreme caps was decided. And even MORE extreme, that's how the 200 Mil Event was created. (I never wanted it)

Sorry you feel that way Bernie, but I just dont feel it's true. And I don't feel that a majority of the Finalists share your opinion.

I was thinking about possible changes in the draft voting. What if future draft voting was done in secret.
The finalists would announce their choice for draft order but the cap and DH status would be done privately. Once a cap and DH is determined, Moose can announce the winner to everyone at the same time.

This way, each manager votes with equal knowledge of what the other managers are thinking.

I'm asking the board for their opinions and if it comes to it - a vote on filling Gary Clausens spot.

Labs suggestion of a private vote of cap and dh to me personally which will be revealed afterwards has merit. I will also have the Board rubber stamp it.

Gary Clausen is still MIA. SOM gave me his city/state and I did try lots of google and social media searches. He has NOT created any new teams since his last Barnstormers team and the email I have is the same one SOM has. At least 10 emails from me have gone unanswered.

I can only assume that something fatefully awful has befallen him.

At this point, I am going to move everyone up a spot in the vote poll. As far as a replacement finalist, I polled the board a couple of weeks ago, but I want to look those over some more before I make a decision. The semi's are now in their final week and then the playoffs, so that still gives us a couple of weeks to go. What a terrible year that was.
