Happy new Phil (and guys), I have a couple questions.

What time Eastern Standard are the first four teams obligated to post their initial FA offers on Monday morning?

What does the bids must be settled by midnight rule (again, presumably Eastern Standard) mean if there is a 24 hour window from the last bid on a player before he becomes signed? Doesn't that deadline shift from player to player depending on the timing of the winning bid, rather than happening at midnight every day for all?

Any time after 10am est on Monday is fine, but remember that there is an advantage to being the first team to offer a player a contract as the second bidder needs to beat the offer on years, money, or both.

You can ignore the midnight rule since the 24 hour window replaces it.

Swanson was actually one of the league’s most improved hitters over the last calendar year, and I’d argue there’s a good chance that 2021 could be Swanson’s first full season during which he’s above-average with the bat.A lot went right for Swanson last season, but much of that success remained below the surface. One measure of Swanson’s improvements is his xwOBA. From 2018 to 2019, Swanson’s OBA jumped by 69 points, the sixth-highest year-over-year increase among hitters with at least 200 batted ball events.

The Blue Jays were dealt a serious blow on Sunday as star shortstop Bo Bichette was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right knee sprain in winter ball.Reports do not look good as Bo Bichette received a second opinion on his injured right knee Monday, and the diagnosis was a Grade 1 sprain of the lateral collateral ligament.

"This fills a big hole following Bo's report as the Cubbies look like a team that is building a contender here in Toronto. Swanson will join 1B Eric Hosmer...2B Ceaser Hernandez and 3B Manny Machado as the infield for 2021.

Great pick up there, and at a very reasonable price. I think you caught the league by surprise by picking Swanson so early. I agree, it looks like he’s starting to hit at the majors and will only improve in the coming years. I nabbed him in my other keeper league after his previous owner got tired of waiting. Kudos to you on a great FA signing.

At the bottom of my page there are 4 open $500,000 contracts listed (for prospects???) I should only have 2 upcoming. It should be 3 per team (don't know why mine has 4) and then I traded one of my picks away last season.

1B/3B Jeimer Candelario( .297/7/29) with an O.B.P( .369) in 2020

He arb 1 so you will control him for at least 3 yrs and than offer a 4 yr deal he is only 26

Pork "CHOPS" Murphy addressed the media by conference video after signing power hitting OF/1B Adam Duvall of the Atlanta Braves MLB.Duvall was #8 in Homeruns in 2020 and when Swanson was signed he raved about the power this hitter had to management went after him on a 1 yr deal.Duvall is your typical power hitter with 16 HR's in 200 AB's in the Covid shortened season and will provide the Cubbies with an excellent back up to the outfield as well DH. The Cubbies have now filled all positional players spots for the 2021 season and will concentrate on others areas such as pitching for the remainder of FA signings.
