2020 Tour Finals: Draft Order & Chat

One of the reasons this is so painfully slow is at least with a snake draft the people on the ends can pick twice in a row.

FWIW: Last years draft took six full days to get to where we are now (three and a half days). Believe it or not, this might be one of the faster live drafts, at least that I’ve been a part of.

This is ridiculously inefficient. Too much of a time suck, when the ATG players can finish a 12 person 25 round draft in about 40 minutes.

I don't like making people wait for me. And I was angered when it was suggested that I made people wait even an average of 1+ hours. Two of my picks were made in less than 9 minutes from when it was my turn and the final draft order was determined.... And one pick was made at about 10:09 am after being online at 9:05 am and it wasn't my turn yet....

But hey, its casual, I won't be doing this Tournament again anytime soon anyway, partly because the 2020 cards are going to suck and partly because my Strat-O-Matic time is usually devoted to the much more exciting MYSTERY TOURNAMENT, and the Daily and retro sets.

So I will just chill and wait patiently, just don't be mad when it is finally my turn if I am out to dinner, napping, or hiking in the woods.

The non serpentine draft is a HUMONGOUS ADVANTAGE, and I am not saying it is not well deserved or appropriate, I am just pointing out the fact that it is a big advantage. And I would be upset if I was a top 5 or 6 seed and the live draft for the first seven rounds was canceled. I could care less about the stadiums, I think my thoughts on that are well known.

So far the two players I am jealous I missed out on are, YOAN MOCADA and FRANKIE MONTAS.

If it makes you feel any better I would have taken D Smith with my next pick but you got to him before me.

Missed out on several picks already. I'm just doing the best I can with what's available.

2016: 1/14 2:38pm to 1/22 9:23am (Just under eight days).
2017: 1/23 1:18pm to 2/01 5:07pm (Just over nine days).
2018: 1/24 9:58am to 2/02 7:49am (Just under nine days).
2019: 1/01 5:22pm to 1/09 3:35pm (Just under eight days).

2020: 1/20 11:51pm to ???

Typically the later rounds go fastest. We’re in round six on DAY 4. This could be the new high water mark in tour finals drafts. Let’s keep it going.

Yeah, I've gotta say that '0 mins between picks' is pretty unbelieveable.

And if one more of my planned draft picks gets taken by anyone, I am going to scream.

I think that this is going to be the closest, most difficult league I've ever participated in.

I am a college professor, I can always be near the boards.

As for these picks, yeah.....changed my team dozens of times all ready. Knew I was going to draft all pitching, but several key hitters have been taken all ready too.....OUCH
