Yes, of course it is not against the rules.

But I am sick of Strat-O-Matic not making the best/ most realistic game they can make. It wouldn't take much to fix this loophole. But if they do it this decade I will be shocked....
Meanwhile they upgrade the computer game every year but leave the online players looking for the real GM EXPERIENCE hanging.
Remember they are supposed to be the best/ most realistic baseball simulation. Do they have no pride in their work?

I'd argue the game stops being "realistic " and/or a "simulation" just as soon as you stop trying to recreate an actual season and mix things up as we do in the online game all the time. If you use the game to replay a real season, the cards and game engine give you a realistic simulation, but once you introduce the element of "what if" as in "what if I put Pete Alonso's 2019 card in Coors field for 81 games"- you are no longer dealing with a simulation or realism so everything else realistic goes right out the window.

Just my 2 Cents, YMMV.;-)

I wouldn't say this is anything to worry about. You may save some money on high injury players to use in your lineup but you are also spending way more money on bench players than you would normally as well if the backup players are actually good enough to not downgrade your lineup much if the starter went down. Even a 2M high injury backup player is nothing to fear as he will still have big holes in his game. You would have to be using 4 bench players over 4M or so to still have backups almost as good as your starters. Even then, depending on what starting players get injured, there still could be a big loss in the lineup when the starting player is out.

I've tried all injury teams in the past and I can tell you that they don't always work out well. Just like any other strategy, it may work sometimes but not always.

I think any advantage from the rule preventing less than 9 position players is somewhat minor anyway. The real advantage is the game is thst high-injury guys are heavily discounted and there is value there if you can cover their injury games adequately with bench players. High injury players salaries are significantly discounted in the game. Even a 5 plays what 75% of the time Corey Dickerson is an absolute stud for 2.3 million and there are plenty of others. The trick is to come up with guys that can adequately replace them when they do go down. Which requires a certain typr of team construction, typically with a lot spent on pitching and a lot of 2-3 milion guys that are somewhat interchangeable. Mastermosser is off to a good start in the finals btw...

I have to say that in general I have noticed teams spending more than 40 milion on pitching in pitcher's parks winning this year, so that might also be a reason for his success...

why couldnt the moves during the game be made by the players instead of hal. set the game time and those who want hal can have him and those who want to manage just be there at game time .this would cost me alot of money because the game would be 10 times more enjoyable and iwould be buying way more teams.

I am trying this as a fun experiment in ATG9. Hard to do right and my guess is I will get crushed.
A few issues:
1. The back ups are bad. Rollins is a 4 injury at SS but nobody decent to replace him with him injury rating.
2. It feels weird drafting with the hope that a player gets injured.
3. For the 9 out of 13 rule to be helpful you need 4 players down before the rule saves you. That’s a lot.
4. Other than catcher, both players ranked at a position may be injured at same time. I am picturing a lot of out of position players.
5. All of your position players need to have high injury rating or the 9 out of 13 rule doesn’t work as well.

Since this is probably my last season of 2019 until the 2020's come out, I figured I'd give this a try too. If anything, it could be a fun distraction while waiting on 2020 anyway.
I drafted this team with the parameters you mentioned in mind.
https://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1624950 The season starts tomorrow.

Normally I'm a pitcher/defense/running strategy and my lifetime (albeit short) winning pct is .540 so I'm pretty confident pitching/defense (as pointed out earlier) is the soundest way to win. But heck, I'm ok with a one-off experiment.. here it goes...

This team is all Offense. No defense... Pitching is probably adequate, at best. 6 of 7 relievers are R2 while 5 have C-rating. Setting up for aggressive relief usage. Turning my Starters into Openers, really.
9 of my 13 batters have SLG over .500... only 1 platoon (Pederson/Luplow)
Enrique Hernandez & Mike Freeman coming off the bench likely to see just as many AB as everyone else due to injuries.
I'll have Avila (6 inj) defensive replacement/backup to Garver.
Gallo (5 inj) will go down a lot, but gotta luv his bat in this strategy, eh?

So... what are your predictions? Will this team win a lot, or lose a lot? LOL

 First thing I see when looking at your Team is Cal Ripken injured for 4 games... WTF!
(ok, so it's his 1999 season card, but still. Cal "Ironman" Ripken on the IL? SMH

You have a lot of 1 injury rankings. Based on my experience so far I’m not sure the 9 out of 13 rule is going to help you much. Let’s keep in touch. So far my team sucks and there has only been a game or 2 that the 9 out of 13 rule might have helped. Ripken hasn’t Ben too bad. Kiermeier’s been out a lot.

My 2002 teams show almost everyone as an injury 10, so I know that can’t be right.

Here’s a 2003 team though, from the Good ‘ol Days:
