Well I just thought of a new metric we could use as an avatar-style rating system. It quite takes the title of the post full circle.
It's the DTTL: Delta time to live, also known as the happy indifference rating.
So, it is the difference between your personalized life expectancy and the life expectancy of SOM.
DTTL= (Personalized life expectancy) - SOM Life expectancy
(+) Rating: Unfortunately this means you are likely to need to find a new hobby before you die. Or, hope for an error in your personalized life expectancy (maybe eat french fries daily). But on the flip side you may live longer if you do nothing, and can hop in to DrFreeze's softball for seniors schtick.
(-) Rating: Great news! SOM will likely outlive you so you can ride into the afterlife in full confidence that you can continue smoking, drinking, avoiding exercise, and basically still guaranteeing a happy sunset. SWEET!
