Double Pick- Fowldawg/Terry101--- Brennen Davis (prospect) CHC I drafted Davis in round 28 and fowldawg drafted him in round 30. I don't believe we resolved this last season. Assuming that is right, apologize for not catching it immediately. The solution is: fowldawg should pick a player to replace Davis. Post here on boards- Thanks


Next order of business: We will start with the AL draft order. Per draft rules:

RULES CONCERNING DRAFTS

1. There is no prospect draft. Any player signed by a MLB team is eligible for the draft. Prospects can be drafted at any time during the draft.
2. There is no supplemental draft. This will put more players in play for the following year.
3. Draft position is determined by lottery and position. Each year the bottom six teams will be in a lottery for the first six FA picks. The next six draft positions 7 through 12 by team records
(combined league not included). Ties broken by run differential. This prevents tanking to get first pick. This is important in this league because, let’s say, Trout is traded from the AL to the NL. NL teams might want to get that first pick in next year’s draft, since the difference between that pick and the next…
4. Annual drafts are non-serpentine.
5. All teams must be at 32 players upon completion of draft.

When the sequence comes out the first number drawn is Fred's; the second is fowldawg's, etc.

Terry, I'm not trying to be difficult --- but I do think that the field from which fowldawg's pick is made should exclude any players that were drafted in the 2020 MLB draft.

None of those players were available to any other manager during the draft; it's not fair that a 1st round draft pick from last year's draft be taken when it was fowldawg's error last year.

I mean no offense, fowldawg, I just think it is unfair.

So I'm new to the league and don't know anything about how this is run, but I agree with Sean's point. Additionally, if we're being honest, there are all sorts of ways to take advantage of this by picking anyone that might be available. I think the most fair way to deal with it would be to give Fowldawg a Round 30b pick for this year, that way the value of the lost player is similar/exact.

This isn't an attack on you at all, Dawg. My point is, this time last year, Brennen Davis wasn't even a TOP 100 Prospect. He moved up this year to # 72, and Veen is at # 86 already without ever having played an inning of minor league ball. He was the 9th player selected overall last July.

I think the more fair way to do it might be to let you have 2 picks in Round 30 this year, as DC Irish suggested. It's Terry's call, ultimately.

I apologize if it seemed an attack on you. You just did what Terry asked you to do. I don't think you were being devious in any way.

I'd say those rankings would depend on what site you used... Mine had B.Davis top 32-72, never outside of the top 100. Round 30 this year will probably be 15 rounds after the draft is over. I'm fine forfeiting the pick and repicking at the end of the draft if that is what everyone wants.

The fairest thing is to get the pick in now- not wait. Here is a link to the top 120 for 2020 (it says 100, but lists 120) by fangraphs.

fowldawg should pick a player from this list that did not end up playing in the majors in 2020. Nothing is going to be exactly perfect, but this is a workable solution.
