Hacking: New Concern ?

PostMon Mar 22, 2021 5:12 pm

Has anyone whose credit card info was stolen when SOM was hacked received any mail from any credit card company regarding a request they said you made for a new acct with them that you "did not make". I have received such mail and am concerned if personal info such as home address was also hacked along with credit card info.
I am waiting on a reply from SOM support regarding my concern.
I just wanted to double check with all of you if you had this happen too.

I would suggest putting a fraud alert with the credit agencies. This tells any lender not to lend money without going through steps to identify you.

The creepiest part of my hack was when I got a text message from the hackers purporting to be my bank asking after the charge in question. I called the number provided in the text and an automated voice asked for my SSN at which point I deduced the text message was part of the fraud. So yes, they had my phone number and who knows what other info about me. But according to SOM they aren't responsible because my purchase was before Jan 12 or whatever incorrect date they are insisting on as a start point.

You have to assume they have all the information you put down in for billing address. I think that included address, phone number, email.

My address and email was used in addition to fraudulent credit card charges. I know because I received an email from one of the merchants indicating the purchase that had my address and name but a different address to send the merchandise.

I have sent documentation to STRAT indicating the fraudulent charges but have not heard anything back from them regarding two lousy credits, probably because my last purchase was in December. This company is a joke!!
