Injuries

My apologies if this is a dumb question.
Let's say a player gets injured for maybe 10 games.
You release him and he goes unclaimed and you immediately
pick him back up.
Would he no longer be injured ?
I'd hope that he would remain injured in the sense of fair play

He's still injured.

Still injured. But if you pick up a different year of the same player, he won’t be injured.
