Re: TSL Keeper League- Quick vote

The intent is to play the players you draft. We have at least two teams over the cap. Next year, for sure, the AL and NL leagues will be unlimited, i.e, 200 mil. However, the combined league going forward will be 150 mil as the intent for the combined league is to have a fun and interesting time configuring a combined team from your AL and NL teams.

The question is to raise the limit to 200 mil for this season or ( I find my NL team is over as well) or to make adjustments by dropping players to make the 100 cap. Next season is definite.

How do we all think for this season? Since my team is over as well, I'll put the change to a vote and will not vote on this one.

Raise (means 200 mil for this season) or 100 cap for this season (means teams that are over will need to drop players)- Six votes one way assures the decision--

Terry101- no vote
seanreflex - RAISE TO $200MM
dc irish - RAISE TO $200MM
evanthomas - KEEP AT $100MM

Joker329-
waynick-
toshiro-
bigmahon- RAISE TO $200MM

Jay,

I think $200 was chosen because that's the next available from the Strat offerings ... I'm not positive.

The reality is that with only half the player pool available, for a single team to get above $150 would be a pretty big stretch. Think of it this way - if your team had an UNBELIEVABLY GOOD lineup, it might look something like this:

2 SP @ 8.00 = 16.00
3 RP @ 6.00 = 18.00
6 RP @ 4.00 = 24.00

4 HITTERS @ 8.00 = 32.00
5 HITTERS @ 6.00 = 30.00
5 SUBS @ 4.00 = 20.00

That's a $140MM salary team. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE for someone to have a team that good when only half the player pool is available. So, to your point, I agree that maybe $150MM makes more sense, but the point here is, that the league salary wasn't designed to limit you from drafting the best possible team. There is virtually no draft imaginable that gets you to a salary over $150MM.

So we'll put you down as a "YES" ? :D

150 or 200 it's the same thing-

Also, while we are waiting on the rest of the votes-

I was reminded that we played out the string as follows: 1st the regular season AL, then the NL, then the combined. That's the way we will do it this year as well. We'll play the AL first.

So that's 6 yes votes to raise the salary.

Terry, when you form the league can you select any salary you want, or do you have limited options ($100MM, $200MM, 999M, etc)?

Can you raise it on the AL League we just formed?

What's the next step?

Just so everyone knows...my total salary is $113,590,000 - for the NL. So the $125,000,000 limit is fine by me. If that exists. I'd even be fine with the $100,000,000 salary cap if I could exchange Pagan for a cheapy FA or traded reliever. That would leave me without Brian Anderson/Nick Ahmed/and Christian Walker on most days except for injury-related substitutions.

I am at $62,380 in the AL. I'm a long way from any cap!

I will contact strat but the season starts Friday so I think it will probably have to stay at 100. The change for the AL will be next year. I don't think anyone is over 100 anyway.

To answer Sean- any salary can be set- people just use 100, 200 for convenience.

The majority believes that you should play the players you drafted, i.e raising the salary. I think we ought to go with the minimum raise to satisfy everyone-as it is extremely unlikely any team will go over 125 anyway.
I will say 125 unless there are objections raised. Thanks guys

As said in the previous post, we will play the AL season first, then the NL, then the combined, which will have a 150 salary.
