Have rules been changed previously for BS Tourney mid stream

PostFri Apr 23, 2021 5:47 pm

I thought all rules for Barnstormers were posted before season and then followed for that year....I don't know....this was going to be only 2nd year playing BS....I played like 4 years ago.

That said, received an email invite from Moose saying to join such and such a league....Was there a discussion to randomize all leagues? If so, why wasn't ever posted?

I sent an email to Moose asking what was happening and received a very curt reply, "This is the way it is from now on".

I guess, I won't be playing BS again this year. Good luck to the rest of you that agree that this is the way it is from now on.

The INVITE system is the way it is from now on.

You should have received an invite that came from SOM a couple hours BEFORE the email went out with instructions. It was told to send to both whatever email you have on file with SOM - AND the email address that I have for you. Tons of people did receive the SOM email, as 30 people were already loaded BEFORE the email went out to all 202 players.

So likely buried in your junk mail or wherever else mails gets filtered for you - a SOM invite will be there.

Still don't know what youre all bunched up about. We have been using invites since the middle of the tour last year.

By the way, questions about the tour don't go here, this is why we have the Barnstormers Forum.

And by the way, the leagues are randomized. A request was made and fulfilled in this very forum for a random run of 202, which was matched up against the alphabetical list of current tour players.

Rick,

If you could check out the Sad Day thread it seems there is a cheat that lets folks see the stadiums in private leagues. Don't know anything about this, but evidently some folks have previously brought it to SOM's attention, to no avail. As it potentially impacts the integrity of the leagues in the tour, perhaps you could look into it and advocate for some sort of fix with Garcia.

Well I can certainly TRY. But it's late on a Friday afternoon (evening on the East) so I'm not sure if I can reach anyone. I'm not sure what else I can do to lessen the impact on Barnstormers. We use private leagues exclusively and it wouldn't be logical to delay the tournament or change the league type. I briefly looked at that thread and I'm not sure I completely understand it. You really think Barnstormers players would stoop to that level ?

EDITED: Garcia and 365support has been notified and asked to take a look.

Probably some would. Honor is not a particularly valued trait in our new woke culture.

I don't think this is a critical issue, nor do I fully understand it either. But if it can be made a non-issue that is probably a good thing.

If you posted that reply before my edit - I did notify SOM to both Garcia and the general support email.

I advised them of the flaw over six months ago and provided a solution as well. They acknowledged my concerns and were not aware of the problem. They indicated that they were working on it. I noticed it was still occurring in December and sent several unanswered requests for an update on the situation.

It still exists today. I'm not going to call anyone a cheater but there is a way in private leagues to gain an unfair advantage prior to the draft. If you want more information p.m. me.

Based on the other thread, Moose posted:

"From SOM - words in Red you know what that means - from support not Garcia."

"We're going to fix this right away. By the end of the weekend; probably sooner."

We'll see. I guess it is long overdue if they had the info this long. That's discouraging.
