Interesting Video on MLB pitchers and the screwball

The screwball is rarely seen anymore in the MLB.

I loved watching the rookie Fernando pitching in 1981 and that amazing screwball.

I don't know much about pitching staff construction strategies, but I would think anything you could do to mess up opposing batters' timing would be a valuable asset. A good mix of hard-throwing fireballers, junk ballers, screwball artists, and knuckleballers would be ideal IMO.

Best screwball pitchers: Carl Hubbell, Christy Mathewson, Juan Marichal (Giants) and Fernando Valenzuela, Jim Brewer (Dodgers).
