Hello, I'm Jim. Like a lot of us, I'm in my mid 60's (64) and have been playing Strat since I was a boy. Got my first card set in 1967 and loved playing the board game and recreating seasons. Stopped playing for a long time (life gets in the way, doesn't it?) and picked it back up when my son, Al, was about 12, replaying some of the 70's teams I had stashed away. I even talked Al into joining me in Andy's ALT 11 league, which he thinks is great unless my Giants are sweeping his Cubs in a three game set.
I found the online game when it was still TSN and really enjoy playing in Andy's ALT history leagues. Can't wait for ALT 12 and EXP ALT 2 to start. (That was a not so subtle hint Andy
)
I am semi retired, living with my wife of almost 40 years, Sharon, in Harbor Springs, MI. If you have never been in this part of the world, it is a slice of heaven. We take advantage of the championship golf courses; beautiful Lake Michigan; kayaking, hiking and biking; and downhill skiing in the winter. Our daughter Adrienne has a doctorate in Education and Psychology and is helping educators understand how to help kids with alternate learning styles. Al is a senior software developer and loves the ability to work remotely these days.
My career was spent mostly in manufacturing. We sold our company in 2005 and after 'retiring' in 2008, I have been blessed to help a variety of organizations streamline their leadership processes to optimize their ability to provide value for their people, communities, customers and stakeholders. I have spent over 20 years volunteering on hospital boards at the local, regional and state levels. These folks who care for us are real heroes.
Thanks, Bruce, for the chance to get to know everyone a little better!
