"This Was" is a pretty good record, but it isn't really TULL, is it? ;)

Hello, I'm Jim. Like a lot of us, I'm in my mid 60's (64) and have been playing Strat since I was a boy. Got my first card set in 1967 and loved playing the board game and recreating seasons. Stopped playing for a long time (life gets in the way, doesn't it?) and picked it back up when my son, Al, was about 12, replaying some of the 70's teams I had stashed away. I even talked Al into joining me in Andy's ALT 11 league, which he thinks is great unless my Giants are sweeping his Cubs in a three game set.

I found the online game when it was still TSN and really enjoy playing in Andy's ALT history leagues. Can't wait for ALT 12 and EXP ALT 2 to start. (That was a not so subtle hint Andy ;) )

I am semi retired, living with my wife of almost 40 years, Sharon, in Harbor Springs, MI. If you have never been in this part of the world, it is a slice of heaven. We take advantage of the championship golf courses; beautiful Lake Michigan; kayaking, hiking and biking; and downhill skiing in the winter. Our daughter Adrienne has a doctorate in Education and Psychology and is helping educators understand how to help kids with alternate learning styles. Al is a senior software developer and loves the ability to work remotely these days.

My career was spent mostly in manufacturing. We sold our company in 2005 and after 'retiring' in 2008, I have been blessed to help a variety of organizations streamline their leadership processes to optimize their ability to provide value for their people, communities, customers and stakeholders. I have spent over 20 years volunteering on hospital boards at the local, regional and state levels. These folks who care for us are real heroes.

Thanks, Bruce, for the chance to get to know everyone a little better!

Funny I guess that is what makes the world go round. Never cared for “This Was” however “Stand Up” and “Benefit” are two of my all time favorites

Hello folks-
Im Salty and to the best of my knowledge ive been sober most of my life - or wait, wrong meeting.

Currently in Washington DC, Im play the upright bass and compose a bunch of music- you can hear some of it on
http://www.saltmanknowles.com if you have an urge.
been playing Strato since I was about ten with my cousins- think 1980 was my first set, which makes me all of 50 now.

Have gotten into doing martial arts about 8 years ago or so and am currently a brown belt, used to be terrible and now am less terrible at it.

Cheers

Hello,My real name is Tom and am 76. I grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Northwestern Pa. Spent my last 20 years up to retirement as a head groundskeeper. Been divorced 2 times, thus the moniker Nomo4evers but have been with the same beautiful lady for over 20 years.I actually started out in the early 60's playing APBA. Had a neighbor show me strat in the 70's. Been playing the online game since retirement in 2007.Moved to Myrtle Beach 14 years ago and love it. Not sure how much longer I'll play but it has been a good ride. Hope you all continue to enjoy the game.

Roosky was my college nickname, real name is Randy Newman(not the singer unfortunately). I am 42 years old and live in Richmond Kentucky. I am an insurance agent and own a pediatric clinic with my wife. Started playing Strat with my dad when I was 12 years old and we had a lot of great games over the years. One of our favorite things to do was to take 32 of the best teams of all-time and play a single elimination tournament. Funny thing is that the 1924 Senators would always do really well in those tournaments.

Started playing ATG in the very first version of it. My dad started playing ATG at the same time I did. You all will recognize him as Goreds54. It is pretty cool that the two of us have been playing strat together in one form or another for 30 years now. He started when he was a teenager and played the entire 1970 season for every team. He still has all the stats that he kept from that season stored away somewhere. He used to tell me about how well Tom Hall pitched in that season. Now I have used Hall many times and always think of that.

One last story about me and my dad is that about 14 or 15 years ago we went on a MLB baseball bus trip. We flew to Washington DC, went to a game in Baltimore, went to Fenway to see a game, spent a day in NYC and went to old Yankee Stadium the next day. Drove up to Cooperstown and saw Wade Boggs and Ryne Sandberg inducted into the hall of fame. Our tour had to stay in the little town of Herkimer at an old motel for that leg of the trip. We had brought our strat board and played some games in the room that night. Finished the trip up back in DC and watched the Nationals in what I think was their first or second year back. It was a great trip ran by Diamond Baseball Tours. Check it out sometime.

Thanks for taking time to read my story.
