I have been running Alternate History Leagues for quite a few years now. I have a loyal group of 12-15 guys who play the theme and I enjoy that group a lot, but I wanted to branch out and see if I could start somewhat of a "new blood" ALT League.
Starting out, it's 22 seasons, so if long commitments arent for you, you may not be interested.
12 managers each select one of the Original 16 MLB Franchises. Season 1 includes all players who began their careers before 1920 (don't worry, there's an Excel File I send our managers so they know how many seasons a player plays).
After Season 1, any players who retired in real life "retire" in our league as well, and any players who began their careers from 1920-1923 are eligible for the rookie draft for Season 2.
That process continues through the Seasons; 4 "real life" baseball seasons make up ONE ALT History Season. (i.e., Ted Williams begins play in 1939 (ALT Season 6) and retires after the 1960 season (ALT Season 12).
You guide your Franchise through the 20th Century, drafting players, watching them retire, making trades; being GM of your Franchise.
Here is a link to the rules (this particular league is ALT12.0, which is FULL and starting now).

If you decide you want to play, you would be in the new league ALT13.0.
