Not sure what the verbrecher wrote, but if you don't play ATG or are just inciting buffonery, go back to breaking rocks somewhere else.

Why can't there just be a simple tiering type effect:

600+ = 3 games max
550+ = 6 games max
500+ = 9 games max
<500 = 15 games max

Or something along those lines?

bc that would involve actual logic and a desire to get it right. :? :o

It's not an issue that is going to cause SOM to lose revenue...so doubtful they will bother with it.

As chris s said...For me at least, in the scheme of things, it is not even a minor annoyance because it is already priced into every player's card. What bothers me more is the example Lab gave in a separate post re: the hold logic. That's a structural problem that randomly screws up results.

To the other point, it is a good thing those inflated batting numbers went out with the modern players. Thankfully, they haven't used PEDs, better equipment, closer fences, pristine fields, smaller strike zones, a fat/old/bad fielder-guy hitter only rule, or enhanced rules against beanball.

Just playing devil's advocate. ;)

Yeah, except for one thing, in 1900 there might have been 100,000 white American men who grew up playing baseball. Nowadays there are hundreds of millions of kids worldwide who play baseball, and guess what, it ain't just for white boys anymore.

If we sent Tatis Jr back in time he would hit 100 Hrs and embarrassed Babe Ruth. And if we sent Ruth forward to 2021 he might be lucky to hit 20 HRs off today's pitching.
One more thing, at least 75% of the pitchers Ruth homered off of would not make a Double AA team today.

The player pool is quite literally thousands of times bigger with millions more players.

If Tatis went back and ate, drank, smoked and chased women around on the long train rides as Ruth did, he'd be dead in a week :-)

Radagast,

Many of your comments are being made in a VACUUM.

Who is to say that if Babe Ruth would have been born in 1980, Ruth wouldn't have benefitted from better coaching, better strength and conditioning and better nutritional guidance?

Maybe, maybe not, but to say that Ruth DEFINITELY would have been a mediocre player in the modern era is like saying Lincoln and Jefferson would have sucked as politicians in the modern era or Edison and Tesla would have bombed as inventors in the modern era.

Ruth dominated 90 years ago and that's noteworthy....trying to be-little him because he played against lesser "athletes" only brings about negative energy.

What is the point of the general criticism? What are you hoping to achieve? Or is it simply to be contentious?

I believe the answer would be YES to all of the above.

I wanted lo let you know guys that I took the matter in my own hands... Since injuries to a player don't affect all his cards, I moved from Keeler's $4.63M card to his $3.45M one...

Two wrongs don't make a right !!! It may seem unfair and unethical...

But what the heck... so does a 15 game injury to Keeler !!!

Since the game allows it... I have no regrets taking advantage of what I consider a major flaw... as injuries are to my humble opinion...
