Socially Distant League Chat thread -

At the conclusion of Round 15, I will be one body short on my 40-man roster as a result of the George Springer trade that I made. I propose activating Brady Lindsly from my prospects list to complete my roster, unless that would violate one of the league rules.

I floated this request back on page 60 of the discussion thread. I am reposting it now to ask that this transaction be formalized, rules permitting.

Congratulations to Grant for taking the Season 1 title!

I’m not really sure where we stand with this league at this point, but this is what I see:

1. Fred has left.
2. I offered to take over as commissioner if nobody else wanted it. But only 2 managers (Turtle and Tarheel) chimed in on that, which I’m inclined to take as a vote against me being commissioner. I’m ok with that.
3. So as a result we still need a new commissioner.
4. And we need a replacement manager for Fred’s squad.

To be honest, this league feels a bit jinxed. It would be good if it had a bit of leadership and direction.

I would be fine with bigmahon as commissioner. Thank you for being willing to step up.

Wasn't really checking the board much, but I wouldn't assume absence of vote as a vote of no. I'd be happy to have BigM take over as GM. Unless there's anyone who objects, let's move forward assuming we all appreciate and welcome you stepping into the role.

My main impression of the league as a newcomer is the lack of regular communication. Based upon my past experience in other leagues, I see the main role of the commissioner as being the individual who keeps things on schedule. I am not suggesting rigidity, but too much flexibility can lead to complacency I think. If I'm wrong and it is a loss of interest in the league format amongst longer-serving managers, I am personally open to entertaining ideas about how to liven things up. After the season my squad just completed, I have no where to go but up

This I"m cutting my leagues WAY down as a step towards retiring from Strat and haven't made a decision on whether I'll be back for season two here. But Either way would have no problem with Chris running things.

Sorry, in no way was my silence a vote against bigmahon. So if you are willing, I'm all for it.
