Here are the rules for the Supplemental Free Agent Signing Period:
Article XI. SUPPLEMENTAL FREE AGENT SIGNING PERIOD
Section 11.01 A supplemental free agent signing period will be held between seasons 1 and 2 of each calendar year.
Section 11.02 All owners must announce their roster drops, up to 3, prior to the supplemental signings. Dropped players who are still under contract will have their salaries count toward the salary cap for the remainder of their contracts.
Section 11.03 Owners may drop up to 3 players, but do not have to drop any. Owners with less than a 40-man active roster may use the supplemental signing period to get back to a full 40-man roster under the following conditions:
(a) They have salary cap money available to do so;
(b) They do not drop more than 3 players;
Section 11.04 Any player with a SOMO card that is not currently owned by another team for the current SOM 365 season is eligible for free agency. Uncarded and unleashed players are not eligible for the supplemental free agent signing period. Those players will become available at the end of the MLB season currently being played.
Section 11.05 Bidding rules remain the same as the winter free agent signing period.
Please list your player drops. Once all teams have dropped players or passed on the opportunity, we will begin the supplemental Free Agent signing period.
