Joe... I made the move sometime in the A.M. FYI - Alexander won't start unless there's an injury. Reasoning: Hal might use Kim if I have an extra innings game or used a lot of pitchers, but won't if he's listed in the PGSP. That said, I don't think Kim's pitched in relief except in the first series of the season.

Some GMs have been able to use SP/RP for both purposes, but Hal for the most part has not done this for me.

My team batting stats are a robust collection of futility: .183/.264/.386...
Mike Trout the Webster's dictionary of futility .135/.260/.308
Jose Abreu .196/.286/.402

I am hoping that given we play in GABP these stats will work themselves out at some point..... :(

Now I will go curl up with nice glass of bourbon and watch "Bad News Bears"....

I think if you want a SP/RP to relive often---don't put him in the rotation and use per game SP to spot start him--you have to keep up each night though and not list per game starts a long way into future.

That's exactly what I've done. But, he's pitching every 5th day, and that's making him pretty much unavailable for other games.

I have had some moderate amount of successful use of SP/RP by doing what Milleram said, except NOT list any per game starters. Hold them out of the rotation, and HAL will always start your top 5 $ guys. What generally happens is he will get used in relief on the day before he starts. Another thing is that you have to have more than 5 SP on your roster (even some .5 rummies.) I tried it w/o having 6+ SP and HAL never used my SP/RP in relief.

You do have to monitor it though, because you don't want HAL slipping one of your .5 guys in to start accidently.

This seems to work fairly well, except for Gonsolin. Maybe his $ value is too high, so HAL won't relieve him?

Thanks, good to know. I thought it was weird and I was going to check during the day, but I'm super busy at work right now and I forgot.

Wow, just missed a combined no-no with Gray and Williams 2 out in the 9th, RFx, 3e4 (1-6 hit possibility) and he gets a 2b. :( Very close.

Struck by Lightning 3 times last night!

To the tune of two 1-run losses and a 2-run loss.
