Defensive replacement

PostSat Jul 24, 2021 3:56 pm

I have the big Bonds in left field in a theme league with Chili Davis platooning with Barry Bonnell in right
All 2 range fielders with bonds having the weakest arm. I have Gipson on the bench also a 2 outfielder. I have nothing set for defensive replacements. Whenever my 3rd baseman platoon pinch hits in late innings HAL pulls a switch and takes Bonds out the game. The only way I think I can avoid this is to use Gipson as a defensive replacement in right any other suggestions?

Drop every other player eligible to play LF . :-)

If HAL wants to do something based on roster composition, he tends to find a way to keep doing it unless changes are made somewhere.

Hal's replacements can be questionable--I wish there was a don't replace button or more flexibility there, but...there is a don't PH for, maybe try checking that, but I am not sure it would apply in this case.

Possibly Bonds had a Drs appointment to get a little "flax seed oil"?

It would be better to have more ability to make changes of that nature. I’ve had situations where when players play multiple positions I want them to move out of the one position and into another one but there’s really no way to make that happen. The double switch algorithm is not adequate for what I would like to do sometimes
