I don't disagree freeman, but a couple big differences with the 20xx game in general, at least recent years--
- seems generally looking at a narrow choice of stadiums mostly within a similar performance envelope
- modern pitcher endurance ratings are in the S5-S7 range typically, so the game is very different
- many less players, so team strategies are highly dependent on the outcomes of the draft; really is mostly draft-driven rather than selecting a strategy and implementing.
Heck at some caps I don't even participate in waivers and just wait until I can adjust to opponent choices--though in the case of relievers, this is problematic because of the pricing...and if you are spending 20% of your salary in the pen, you are typically on a wrong path...
BL: I think this highlights the idea originally proposed--which is that tweaking pricing should be the primary tuning mechanism for gameplay adjustments. Why? Because pricing is unique to each game--while tweaking global AI affects all the games differently.
