69 season

Seen the message that 69 season is coming back in early August. We had some really great theme leagues with that
set several years ago...let's do it again...who's in

The announcement was in the Summer Newsletter.

For those who want to choose players from a favorite season, Strat-O-Matic will be reviving competitions using the
1969 card set, the year of the Miracle Mets and the Major League expansion to 24 teams, a traditional favorite among retro seasons.

The 1969 leagues will launch by early August and will only be available as a limited-time summer offer. This will be the first in a series of rotating player sets, changed throughout the year.

been wanting this for close to 10 years and was told by Strat that it wasn't gonna happen....a year later and I happen to see this. not much advert on it by SOM.

Years ago, we had 2 of the most entertaining leagues I can remember.

THEME: We would play 2 Seasons. Random Draft order -2 rounds (draft an entire real team).

Pick from the Top 12 Teams from 1969 (ranked by real life record) and then Reverse the draft order and pick the Bottom 12 Teams.

Then the divisions were set up with the Top 4 Teams in the East, Next 4 Teams in the Central, Worst 4 in the West.

Nothing went as planned. I had one of the worst teams in the league from that year and ended up 1 game from winning the World Series. Just never know.

Anyway, it is the dog days of summer, so I Thought I would throw out a simple 2-season team idea.
