INITIAL 2 LEAGUES OF 24 TEAMS:
$125M cap/DH/5% drop penalty/24 hr waivers
Card sets are AL and NL subsets of ATG9. No NEL players or stadiums are included. As of this writing, we are still awaiting SOM to load the sets that Chip created.
I will be commish of one league and PETERLEE will be commish of other. Once draft plays out, we will decide who is commish of which league.
Stadiums:
Must choose stadium of your league and no duplication of stadiums. Each stadium available can only be used once. There can be multiple Shea or Yankee stadiums but each year can only be used once. Stadiums will be chosen through the live draft. So if Shea ’64 is taken when its your turn to draft, you have to choose another Shea if that is stadium you want to use.
Player live draft:
There will be a 2 round live/virtual draft. You must also designate which card of a particular player you are drafting.
Round 1 - Choose player - the player you choose first will determine which league you will play - AL or NL
Round 2 - Stadium and player - stadium must be part of league you play in
The players you choose in the live draft are your keeper players. These players cannot be dropped or traded and must be on your roster entire 162 games. You also cannot change the specific card of these players at any point in the season, must use same card throughout. Plus, if you make it to finals league, you will use same player and player card for that league, no changes to your 2 keeper players at any time.
Draft order will be determined by sign up list using a sequence randomizer. Draft will be serpentine. I will send out a separate email with the official sign up list. I didn’t want to include in this email since it contains so much info already.
The live/virtual draft will take place in the player forum under Individual League Chat. I will create a chat once 48 people sign up and sequence randomizer is generated.
Rest of roster:
Rest of the team will be determined by auto draft.
For our purposes, Houston Astros players from 2013 to present will be AL and Milwaukee Brewers players from 1998 to present will be NL.
Crossover players:
These are players who have cards for both AL and NL. We have decided for ease of drafting to use the highest card value to determine which league a player is assigned. Example - F Robinson has Cincy and BAL cards. His CIN card is highest value so he is designated as a NL only player. Either one of his Cincy cards can be played but only his NL cards are allowed. There are some 150 players I think that fall into this category.
I will include spreadsheet of all crossover players in the sign up email. Please reply to the sign up email with your name or SOM handle if you intend to join.
FINALS LEAGUE OF 12 TEAMS:
$125m.cap/DH/20% drop penalty
The final 4 teams in the playoffs of each initial league (teams which reached the semi-finals) will get automatic bid to Finals. The remaining 4 teams will be determined from the best record of the teams eliminated in the quarterfinals.
- Each league will send 2 teams which lost in quarterfinals. Division winners which lost in quarterfinals are first priority for making Finals. After that, the 2 teams with the most wins in each league during the entire season - regular + playoffs - will get one of the last 4 spots.
- If teams are tied for most wins in a league, the following will be used as tie breakers:
1.Head to head record
2.Win totals within their own division
3.Win totals outside their division
4.Run differential
5.Home wins
6.Road wins
7.Total runs scored regular season
Each team reaching the finals must draft the same roster as they had at the conclusion of the first league. Must draft exact same players and player cards. Your 2 keepers cannot be dropped at any time during the tournament. The 20% drop penalty starts game 1. The goal is to have same team from start to finish.
For fun, name your team after your favorite college basketball team or college/university in general since this is like NCAA March Madness Tournament.
Baseball Reference will be the official site for any questions regarding player or stadium historical information.
