I read this and thought, of course. Why didn't I think of that. Then I determined the number of hitters in 1969 (388) and 2020A (485) and figured that the 18 "1's" in 1969 would prorate to 23 if both sets had 485 players. Still low compared to 2020A. Unless I'm missing something again lol.
1969 - 388 hitters; 256 pitchers
2020A - 485 hitters; 460 pitchers
What a different game these days.
