Players out of position

PostTue Sep 21, 2021 11:34 am

Poor planning, BUT

My only SS Arky Vaughn is out 15 games...

HAL is playing Tony Lazzeri at SS...

What is his defense rating out of position? How does that work?

Thanks for the help

From the rules:

- Can I start a player at a position not listed on his card?
No. If there is no healthy player on your roster eligible to play that position, the computer manager will determine the best player to fill in there. Such a player fielding out of position will generally have a severe defensive penalty.

Your guess as to what "severe defensive penalty" means.

In the table top version the penalty for a 2b playing ss is (-2)....Lazerri being a "2" would play ss as a "4".....guessing that the computer version would be something similar.

I fixed the defense picking up 1.05 Crosetti... the hitting will definitely suffer though

In the Windows version of the game, it's a 5 e88 (just checked it)

I think I remember seeing that a CF can play LF or RF without a penalty.
