2000s DECADE LEAGUE (rules) - FINAL TOTALS

For those I've sent the spreadsheet to - I can't guarantee it's 100% correct (I just caught one error - see Galarraga). In case of a conflict between the spreadsheet and the cards, the years on the card will be the determination of eligibility.

Ha! I almost posted the same thing - in John Belushi's voice. Glad to have you and 2 other original Decaders (Sykes, Runnin Rebel) back, YF! I've been trying to figure out how many years ago the first Decade league was - 2006? 2007? I can't believe it's been around 15 years!

Hopefully everyone's had a chance to review the rules. There are two rules I'd like consider for revision:

1 - The rookie drafts will be based on reverse order of standings. Should we randomize the order for the bottom 4 teams? Otherwise, there may be some incentive to tank. For example, if a team's out of it in 2000, they might set their sites on the first pick for 2001, when Albert Pujols is available.

2- The divisions will be set for the decade, not changing, season-to-season, for the reasons I stated. I wonder if we might want to have a realignment halfway through the decade though, to change things up. We could play this one by ear.

Feel free to weigh in on either of these possible rules.

I don't think anyone will purposely tank.

I'm fine with whatever anybody else feels. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Also regarding divisions, maybe make it ballpark based? Don't know how viable that really would be, but once again, just spit ballin here.

BC’s Triple Decade league was February 2007 until November 2012. We played from 1971 - 1997. It was a great run!

If you need someone in a pinch, I am in! Until then, have fun and good luck!

I'll put you on the list Jsam. I think you mean 1971-1997. I think that's the league I ended up leaving, coming back and leaving again. So the original Decade league may have started as early as 2004 or 2005.
