1945-1979 Theme league --LEAGUE NOW FULL

This is a private league, called ATG9 1945-1979 GOLDEN ERA OF BASEBALL.
We just used this format and had a blast, so we are going again.
There are 10 owners in, need now only 2 more.

it is 140mill salary, no DH, it is a franchise theme league with a twist. You select a franchise, and then via the waiver wire and trades you can acquire up to 5 additional players.

I created a custom player subset for this theme league, the subset is called ATG9 1945-1979, created by blineimages. The subset only includes players with cards for 1945-1979 and stadiums for that time period as well.

10 Franchises have been selected, there is 1 slot available in the league, with 5 Franchises remaining. Whichever 4 franchises are not selected, and the additional expansion teams. then become the waiver wire player pool.

Choose 1 franchise from the following 16 franchises : (using the pull down screen) ((New York Yankees)),(( Chicago White Sox)),((Red Sox)), ((Cleveland Indians)), ((Milwaukee/Boston/Atlanta Braves)), Chicago Cubs,(( Pittsburgh Pirates)), ((St. Louis Cardinals)), ((NY/San Francisco Giants)), ((Cincinnati Reds)), Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, ((Brooklyn/LA Dodgers)), ((Philadelphia/Oakland A’s)), Detroit Tigers and Senators/Twins.

In waivers, you may select 2 players total from any of the 4 remaining franchises not selected, and the Expansion teams (Brewers, Angels, Astros, Rangers, Royals, Expos, Mets, Padres, Mariners). You must use a stadium from your franchise (between 1945-1979). You must use a player card from your franchise (1945-1979) even if they have cards for other teams. Trades are permitted, as long as you have the rights to the players you are trading away. You may make a maximum of 3 trades, bearing in mind this parameter: between waivers and trades, you may not add more than 5 players to your team, and once the season starts, you must maintain a minimum of 20 players who are carded to your original franchise.
Per the autodraft--In order so that cuts can be made for non-eligible players, all owners are to autodraft 28 players, then after the autodraft is run, immediately cut any players received, that do not have cards for your franchise, ---Please note, players you receive in trade, can be moved up and down from the player pool during the season, and as such are not available for other teams to acquire as FA’s.---Final note: Reggie Jackson, is only available to the A’s franchise.

Interesting concept, in looking over the teams I can see why the remaining teams are available. They seem to be that much weaker than the selected teams. You might want to consider something to even out the competition a bit for these leftover teams. Perhaps combing them with other franchises or giving them more free agents.

As we have already have a season in progress using this theme and parameters, we have found that using the waiver wire and trades, any owner can put together a very competitive team. Every franchise has gaps, and how you fill them is what makes the difference.

And given that now 9 owners have signed up, changing the rules/parameters once the league has been initiated, is not fair to those who have already signed up.
if you are at all hesitant, no worries. I sense the league will fill by tomorrow.

awesome. when you create your team, you can pick which franchise, just make sure you use a team name that reflects which franchise you take. You can enter the league without finalizing everything, as the league has the option to select "not ready for draft" giving you time to put together your player selections, rankings etc.
