Semi-Finals League 1 - Play ball

To be honest, I am losing interest in this real quick. I have the 8th pick and I still don't have a single player drafted. I have been constantly checking in for 5 days now so as to not hold up the draft and again, still don't have a single player. I'm tired of checking in all the time.

For future semi finals I wonder if we could have a neutral person from one of the other 2 leagues act as a commissioner for a league they aren't in. Someone who is online a fair bit. A date is set where everyone knows the draft has started and everyone sends the acting commissioner 4 or 5 picks in order of preference for each round. Anything to speed up this process because what we are doing now isn't working.

What should be fun has become a headache. The problem is some people don’t value other managers time as much as their own. Signing on to a roll call that has ‘Drafts Starting Soon’. In its title and then not checking in for 4-6 days is completely uncool. Sending a message telling other managers to wait after they’ve waited 5 days instead of making your pick on your turn, then no showing is rude and disrespectful. Everyone agreed to make time when they signed up for the tourney. Business trip? So what? There is internet practically everywhere. Vacation? Same thing. This thing should have been done days ago…

Not sure if I’m telling anybody something they don’t already know, but something that can help moves things along is sending your pick to a manager who picks after you (and preferably is active on the boards).

We’re all subject to either work obligations or things that I call “non-optional, mandatory family fun” that get in the way of our Strat time. Sending your pick to a proxy literally buys you 24 hrs where you don’t have to see the forum boards.

Leagues 2 and 3 have both used this. For your consideration, it’s just a thought to help this along.
