Now that my pick is out of the way a little commentary about the draft so far.

I think the most interesting pick so far is Harold Castro by Hendrix08 in round 1.

Hendrix08 has won 2 championships, I have never been to the finals. So trying to learn from his approach.

Exactly how did I "throw the commisioner under the bus", Axelrod?? Have you seen my posts dating to the summer expressing understanding for him?

You actually address none of the points. Very constructive.

It’s true that the commish probably should have set a time but he didn’t. Because he didn’t you should have kept checking back on the forum and you didn’t for 4-5 days. Your bad. Throwing the commish under the bus by pointing out that he didn’t set a time doesn’t change that.

I have an extremely busy life and manage to check the forum multiple times a day. Sorry, but lame excuses. You should know if you made the playoffs, be checking the forum and make your darn pick in a expedient fashion. Give me a break.

I appreciate that you have an "extremely busy life". Not everyone may be as fortunate as you in terms of being able to check. I'm not asking you to agree that people have legitimate reasons. You clearly don't and don't have to.

It doesn't change what has happened this year. Nor does it change the fact that this also happened (from reviewing the forums) in 2019 and 2020 to similar degree.

How can we fix going forward? That is the point.

I have offered two potential solutions which I welcome to be improved upon.

I would prefer some solutions being offered other than "let's skip the pick".

If you want my opinion, you could have significantly shortened your message to say just this:

"I am sorry I misunderstood the timing on the draft. I am new to the players championships semis. I will do my best to be more responsive in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Play ball"

If you all want to have a separate discussion on improvement ideas, lets not do it on this thread.

Not sure if I’m telling anybody something they don’t already know, but something that can help moves things along is sending your pick to a manager who picks after you (and preferably is active on the boards).

We’re all subject to either work obligations or things that I call “non-optional, mandatory family fun” that get in the way of our Strat time. Sending your pick to a proxy literally buys you 24 hrs where you don’t have to see the forum boards.

Leagues 2 and 3 have both used this. For your consideration, it’s just a thought to help this along.

Good option. And yes I did apologize twice. I actually did post these ideas in another thread, but when I jumped on again yesterday and saw about 2 more pages of people whining about folks not picking (this was after my pick), I posted it here as well. Just thought I would offer suggestions. But you are correct. Time to move on.

Well, nice cheap platoon option in a non-power park at 1B. I have used him for that purpose. I imagine he has him assessed as being a great value and therefore more important than taking a high dollar guy at this point, given only a 80 million league
