Well, another point of clarification for your example; the next lowest player is selected based on primary position only, so Lemahieu would not be a replacement for a 1B. Abreu would be next up as a 1B (if not on someone else's card) if you missed out on Goldschmidt.

Yes indeed-Good clarification on my Goldschmidt example, and thank you. I hadn't realized it was primary only. I have a lot to learn and appreciate the help.
After being slow on my initial pick, I just was afraid I might mess up and end up accidentally taking someone who was drafted by another, but I see now that it's built in for that not to happen as long as they go on the draft list.
