We have lost "The Last Druid"

Really sad news. I was just thinking about him a few days ago. He always drove me crazy with how good his teams were,but I learned a lot from him. Only had a few conversations with him ,but he was always polite and willing to help. RIP Bruce

This is a shock!

The SOMO community has lost an iconic figure... it just won't be the same without him.

My thoughts and prayers for his family.

Knew him from the beginning, 20 years ago. He was a favorite competitor--tough, smart, funny, and yes, a bit arrogant, but that made you want to beat him....which was extremely difficult. I always looked to join leagues that he was in, not only because i wanted to beat him, but regardless, I always learned something valuable.
I am sure someone will start a LAST DRUID Memorial League. And it should recur every Jan 14th.....
kudos to the man.

Very sad news probably the most iconic member of our tribe. Great competitor and a real character. There will never be another one like him. May his memory be a blessing

In a recent league, I had sent Bruce a quick message wishing him the best of luck in the finals, game 7. BTW he did win game 7 and another championship.

Got sick today. 100.9 Fever. I'm using Dr Zeb Zelenko's treatment protocol. Assume it's Coco. Well see how that goes.

Bruce brought such rigor and passion to this game; he improved us all. It's hard to imagine this game and this community without him. I'll miss his strongly held and well informed opinions about both strat and chess. And I'll miss the fear and respect I felt every time I was up against him. For those of you who knew the man in real life, and I know it is many of you, I'm so sorry for your loss.
