you said it better than I did.....that was the point I was trying to make per those 4 starting pitchers.

With all the access to spreadsheets, rating sources such as diamond dope and Joe the Jet's rating system, and people's own highly developed excel spreadsheets, it is not just ratings alone that determine a teams success.

The very top owners who play this game, not only clearly have very effective rating systems, but they also have developed the resources and abilities to fine tune and customize a team, based on the stadiums, lineups, pitching staffs etc. for each individual specific league.

And yes, the great thing about it, is that each league is different, each league has its own set of parameters, so copycatting is no guarantee of success. I think the most productive use of time in putting a team together, is to customize your team to your home ballpark, then per your team's division, and then the overall.

Then of course, there is that thing about OBP....

Well stated and I agree.

This thread is a few years old on the 200x side, but I’m throwing it out there in case anyone is interested in furthering the discussion.

Also, if anyone can tell me why this http://forum.365.strat-o-matic.com/community/ drops off every time I try to link a thread, I would appreciate the tutorial.
