Madal, I actually think you’re right, although your player signings are only one data point in a much larger set of player contracts used to determine the 4 and 5 year minimums, which refer to overall top 25% or 50% salary at a position, league wide. So your decisions might move that overall number, but not by a lot. So I’ll change what I said earlier and contend that arb2021 decisions have little, but some, bearing on the 4-5 year extension minimums for subsequent years.
Regardless, by rule we must make our extension and arbitration decisions before the actual real life MLB season starts.
