The way that an arb in 2021 can affect a player's arb in 2022, and I think what beesore was getting at, is that it will affect what salary he can be resigned at. Say I have a player in arb1 in 2021 and his card comes in at 4,000,000. Now I do his contract for 2022 when he is arb2. One of my options is to resign him for 1 year at his current salary or the minimum for arb2 (3,000,000) whichever is higher. In this case it would be for 4,000,000. Contrast that with him coming in at 2,000,000 for 2021. In that case resigning him for 1 year will be for 3,000,000, the arb2 minimum.

Yes, you’re correct that we should know the 4-5 year minimum figures before deciding on extensions. Phil is able to calculate those now based on last year’s salaries, and has provided that info at this time in previous seasons. Will wait for him to announce those numbers soon. I personally don’t want to extend any players this year, so I’ve listed my moves already.

What is the unleashed rule for moneyball

Unleashed players can be on the 40 man but not used in game play. Feel free to correct me if I got the rule wrong I’m in a hurry

My conundrum is.....I have two catchers, Zunino and Garneau.......Garneau appears to be unleashed, I cannot make a team to load

Found the rule says they are ineligible for FA. Phil will need to clarify the game play question.
