Unbelievable

PostSat Mar 12, 2022 1:33 am

Having Hal let .5 Logan Allen give up seven runs in the bottom of the 8th with a 7-0 lead, eventually losing 8-7, in game 5 of a semifinal series I was leading 3-1 (to a 78-84 team) has got to be the most aggravating thing that has happened to me playing this game...

Seems Hal makes a decision like that often the last two years---though losing a playoff game and then the next two games make it much worse. I looked at the series and I don't think the rest of your BP was tired either--I dislike mopup role rules when you are leading (assuming that is what happened--though maybe not). I wish they would change that---.

I didn't have him set as anything. Just avoid righties (I think that was about every hitter he faced and he is a 9l) and quick hook. Norris came in as an F4 but that would have been preferable. Castillo was not tired but he is a C4 so maybe Hal was saving him? Other relievers could have been tired looking at their prior games. Gomber and Suter--starter relievers-- were available but Hal is finicky in how it uses non--pure relievers. Just was one of those things and Hal really likes using Logan Allen for some reason. But there had to a better option there...
