Based on the rules whoever has LAA pitching shouldn't be allowed to bat him in games when he doesn't start and the LAA hitting shouldn't be able to use him as a pitcher. But we don't know how strict the game is with these settings.

Very good observation.
At this point the fairest ruling might be that for this year Ohtani is a batter, that's it, since nobody has the LAA pitching and anyone picking them would be aware of the situation up front.
Another option might be that he's a pitcher for one of our seasons and batter in the other, but which one is which?
