I made the mention to explain the keeping of this uncared player (O’Day).

Understood, but he was only an AL player last year, and so, if he were to have pitched enough innings to have a card in this year's set, it would be an AL card. I didn't think it would matter who he signed with for this season becasue the game is played one year in arrears.

Not likely to be an issue, at O'Day's advanced age, etc. But it sets a precedent. I mean, why can't we keep prospects that are traded to an AL organization, since they might still have their first card for an NL team if they get traded again...

My understanding has been that prospects traded to AL teams can remain kept as prospects until they are carded- if carded to AL team they must be dropped.

Yes Dr_Marc it's a simple rule if a player is cared to a league AL or NL that's what matters here. Even though O'Day did pitch last year in the AL he didn't get a card so he remains a "NL" player/card. It's much easier to track by just going with the cards

I have Noah Syndergaard he is currently signed with the Angles he last picthed with the Mets. If he stays with the Angles all year and gets a card then I will have to remove him from my IL no card list. If he either doesn't get a card this year or gets traded by to the NL I am good to go with keeping him.

If he gets an AL card I lose control of him.
