Steve F, I, too, sent letter to SOM support about backups not being recognized for injured players.

Now that you say this, I recall having a game this weekend where after an injury the sub wasn’t whom I expected. I chalked it up to me having screwed up my lineup card but maybe, for once, I wasn’t actually the problem.

This is the problem with not being able to verify the Max Rules selections before a game is played. Other than an out-of-date wiki. Would be nice to see a log file that confirms the settings before starting a game--like a power on self test. Could just be a link to a text file in the boxscore. You know, this might be more handy than who won their first championship that I have to get stuck scrolling through.

These don't even necessarily have to be parameter files or scripts that get initialized or something--they are accessible via the GUI and easy to dork up. So even the best software engineering may not help. I don't know how they execute their play scripts of course.
And the Max rules can create some strange things like card flips (Home field, weather, enforcing stats, doubles/triples stuff, etc) Of course BPv3 is a black box offender there...
Point is--I think it is safe to say it is most likely an honest mistake--but it seems to me to be easy to make a mistake.

I also think every result should indicate when a max rule was applied and what it was. The game engine doesn't do this, but they own the game engine and it should be logged somewhere that it can be included in the results output just like the "rolls".

Dreamers. They don't care. The game playback feature has been in beta mode for six or seven years!

Is this, from your Front Office page, an explanation?

Note, 4/18: We have identified and fixed a bug that was causing inconsistent results on some ballpark effect rolls for a number of leagues, on the nights of Saturday and Sunday, 4/16 - 4/17. We sincerely regret and apologize for this error, and have resolved the issue effective for tonight's new games (Mon, 4/18).

Not really--it is an acknowledgement of what we found--but not an explanation of how/what. What bug? When did it get introduced and how/why? How will it be prevented? And to what extent did it affect results?

And Badjam--not dreaming and not talking about the playback feature.

If this affected your team missing the playoffs, or a playoff win(s) or a title win(s) in an expensive game you pay for, too damn bad
