Event 3 Leagues will be created the evening of Friday May 27, with first pitch on June 6 and a secondary start week of June 13. Due to INVITES, leagues are filling faster and this caused Event 2 second start week to have no effect. But if you expect to be away on vacation, it would be nice to hear from you so I don't keep inviting you repeatedly.
One player was a no show for Event 2 and was dropped from the tour. We also picked up a new player so we remain at 188 players. (2021 - 207 / 2020 - 248 / 2019 - 166 / 2018 - 158 )
In the Event 2 schedule thread, we hashed around those who I approved for a stadium change and some ground rules were set. As a result, two players who DID NOT RESPOND to the stadium violation were fined and SOM posted the fines to their Event 2 points on the main page. Going forward, all fines will get posted so the standing page will be accurate.
I will continue to try and "catch" the violations earlier but this cannot happen until the league DRAFTS as invites by it's very nature allows you to change your stadium up until everyone has marked their team as ready. Violators will be given one "correction" per YEAR and they will be given restrictions to limit a drastic change. This may get more strained as the events proceed as they will have less groupings left to change to. And, once a change has been agreed to and is in place, an email will go out to everyone in the league informing them of the change. Therefore, the only one that can make a change in the Commish. The days of "asking" SOM to make a change is gone.
The special threads in this forum for what groupings everyone have used to date is updated now and I will keep it current. Also, the links for all leagues will be current at all times. Playoffs links are there too. SOM will be made aware of FILLERS used so their points will not get added to the standings page.
Going forward, Event 4 will be 60 Mil, Event 5 will be 140 Mil and Event 6 will be 200 Mil. Live Draft will be OPTIONAL for the 140 and 200 Mil events. But the number of leagues live drafting will be limited so you will need to get your hand up early. Last year 4 leagues live drafted in both 140 and 200 mil. Live drafts are 1 minute per pick and take place Tues/Wed/Thurs evenings. No Exceptions.
To summarize some 2022 changes, the BYE directly to the Finals will be Top 8. Finishers 9-20 will play a 12 team Semi-final. Finishers 21-92 will play 3 24-team semi-finals. Everyone finishing 1-92 will get a credit beyond normal ways to win a credit, to play their post Events semi-finals or finals. All 12 Finalists will receive a code and a download to the most current WINDOWS SOM Game. This means approximately 50% of Barnstormers will advance to the Semi-Finals and Finals rounds. Drop low event is still used for those who play in all 6 Events.
We have a nice long hiatus now until Event 3 kicks off so enjoy the return of MLB. If there are any more questions or comments, let's hear them.
